Some people's lives are governed (ruled) by pride and they think they know better than others. This may be so, but knowledge is never so important that it should interfere with love.
Religious pride blinds the person to love and all they can see is the sins in others, not realising that they are casting a dark cloud over them, by looking at them negatively.
The truth is, that pride is ALWAYS pricked and reacts ungraciously, while love ALWAYS responds peaceably, with wisdom and grace. This is how you tell the wolves from the shepherds and you should never blame God or Christ for the way people behave, because God gave us all free will and Jesus made it very clear, to ignore those who are filled with religious pride (Pharisees).
While the eyes are the windows of the soul, the imagination is the door and religious pride is unable to hear God's voice.
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. Revelation 3:20
By pride comes nothing but strife, But with the well-advised is wisdom. Proverbs 13:10
Jesus said "I am the truth, the way and the life". He was essentially saying, "I am the example of the true way of life, in God's love". A love that is beyond anything we are capable of imagining.
God's love is powerful, unrelenting and full of purpose. It is absolute, unreserved and unadulterated; and it flows through you supernaturally, like a rushing river of golden, liquid light, alive with a holy passion and fountaining through every pore, while shining with true, majestic virtue and enveloping you in a peace that is so absolutely humble, holy and full of grace, it surpasses ALL understanding and your wildest dreams.
The Bible is for us to learn the true way of life that we should all be living, in God's love. When we allow God's true love to govern (rule) our lives, with no resistance from our doubts and fears, desires of the flesh or our own hopes and dreams, then He naturally becomes a supernatural part of our life. True love heals all wounds, including broken hearts and as the source of all life, keeps you alive eternally.
As we grow, we go from being toddlers, constantly falling down as we learn to walk and become grown men and women who walk tall and sure-footed, in the stature of the majestic virtue of God's true love.
When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 1 Corinthians 13:11
When we are able to walk humbly, with absolute surety in the spirit of love and holiness, then we are set free from the law.
It is the voice of religious pride, that says you MUST read the scriptures over and over again, because pride doesn't get the picture. Also, so you will attend the church where they are in leadership, to keep their little hierarchy alive. The truth is, the 'Kingdom' is not a place or even a group. It is the majestic virtue (righteousness) of God's true love, brought to life in your every thought, word and deed.
